The German-Nordic Youth Philharmonic (Deutsch-Skandinavische Jugend-Philharmonie) is an international youth symphony orchestra that comes together once a year for a week-long intensive orchestra project: a course that culminates in a concert at the Berliner Philharmonie. The first ‘’German-Nordic Philharmonic Week’’ took place in the New Year week of 1981/1982 thanks to the composer and conductor Andreas Peer Kähler, who founded the orchestra and is its artistic director and principal conductor.
